The Treasures of Bagulin, La Union

Bagulin is a 5th class municipality of La Union. It is located on the eastern part of La Union bordering Kapangan, Benguet. It is famous for its boom-making industry because of the abundance of tiger grass and its sweet bananas. Once a part of Mountain Province, Bagulin was created as a regular municipality of Mountain Province by then Governor Pack in 1903.

 From Naguillian, it takes 30 minutes to reach the Town proper of Bagulin. Take a tricycle, a jeepney or a bus for a ride. On your way, you can see the breathtaking views of mountains, trees and rivers.

 

Most people of Bagulin are ilokano and igorot. Folks used to speak in iloko and kankanaey dialect.

 

 

The hanging bridge in Bagulin was the longest hanging bridge I've ever see. It is located on the north-side of the Bagulin Municipal Hall. It is very adventurous to walk through it as the bridge go swinging. You can see stunning mountain view over the hanging bridge. Below the hanging bridge, the river flows and  big rocks and stones were scattered. 

 

The image was shoot when we were on the top of the jeepney.  Down the mountains, you can see the breathtaking view of ricefields.

 

You can couple of mountains everywhere which makes us more excited. All you can say is "wow, awesome view!" 

 

 

The municipality was discovered to have various physical and natural features potential for tourist spot development such as the Bagulin River, Losloi Falls and Cardiz Spring, In 1977, “ALLABOK” was declared a National Cultural Treasurer where the burial caves and hanging coffins are found.

 

Generally, the entire town is hilly and mountainous. Lowest spot is found at Barangay Dagup, 115 meters above sea level. Slowly descending to a plateau down to Cabasitan River where the boundary with the town of San Juan is found. This highest peak is at Barangay Cardiz at 1,113 meters above sea level and where the common boundary with the municipality of Kapangan, Benguet is shared.
